Freeform Launches Throwback Disney Channel Block This May
Starting this May, Freeform (the new name for ABC Family) is adding a “That’s So Throwback” block to its line-up, featuring older Disney Channel series and movies.
The block runs weeknights from midnight to 2am Eastern Time starting May 2nd.
Monday-Thursday nights, staple Disney Channel series will air:
12:00am Lizzie McGuire
12:30am That’s So Raven
1:00am Hannah Montana
1:30am Kim Possible
Friday nights will feature different Disney Channel Original Movies:
May 6 – Twitches
May 13 – Get a Clue
May 20 – Stuck in the Suburbs
May 27 – Smart House
ABC Family has aired several of the series and movies in the past, for special week-long or weekend throwback events, but this will be the first time they will air regularly. This will also mark the first time Hannah Montana and Kim Possible appear on the network.
For the few who don’t already know, Lizzie McGuire starred Hilary Duff and ran for 65 episodes between 2001 and 2004. That’s So Raven starred Raven-Symoné and ran 100 episodes from 2003 to 2007.
Hannah Montana, starring Miley Cyrus, just recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, running from 2006 to 2011 for 101 half-hours. Kim Possible had 87 episodes that ran from 2002 through 2007 and featured the voice of Christy Carlson Romano (from Disney’s other popular show, Even Stevens).
