Cartoon Network’s Summer 2014 Ratings Highlights

Teen Titans Go! - Breakfast Cheese 01Cartoon Network was the only top kids network to achieve delivery gains (+5% to +7%) vs. last summer among targeted kids 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14 during Total Day.

Cartoon Network’s original programming claimed ALL of the Top 20 telecasts among boys 6-11 this summer, and scored two series—Teen Titans Go! and The Amazing World of Gumballamong the Top 5 telecasts with kids 6-11.

Across summer 2014, Cartoon Network scored as television’s #1 network during Total Day among boys 6-11 & 9-14, while also ranking #1 for Early Prime (6-8 p.m.) delivery among all boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14.

Dominating Thursday nights (6-8 p.m.) throughout the summer, Cartoon Network ranked as the #1 television network among all targeted kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14.

  • Original series Teen Titans Go! (6 p.m.)claimed basic cable’s #1 Thursday program among all boy demos, ranking #1 in its time period among kids/boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14.
  • Original series The Amazing World of Gumball (6:30 p.m.), Clarence (6:45 p.m.), and Adventure Time (7:00 p.m.) all won their respective timeslots across all key kids and boys.
  • Original series Regular Show (7:30 p.m.) ranked #1 in its time period among all targeted boys.
  • Thursday night overall outperformed last year’s time period delivery averages by double and triple-digits across the board—kids 2-11 by +101%, kids 6-11 by +103% and kids 9-14 by +98%.

Among Monday-Friday programming, Total Drama: Pahkitew Island (M-F, 6 p.m.) won its timeslot among kids/boys 9-14; ranked as the top program of the summer among all targeted boys 2-11, 6-11 & 9-14; and increased delivery averages by double-digits across all targeted kids and boys, ranging between +22% and +62%.

Cartoon Network ranked #1 among all Kids networks on VOD for the third month in a row, with more than 36 million orders in June.

Cartoon Network mobile game plays increased +174% to 23.5M plays per month vs. last year in summer ’14, due to the addition of several new games to the portfolio, including Adventure Time Card Wars (which hit #1 among all Paid iPad Apps, with users averaging nearly 3 hours/person each month in summer 2014), Ski Safari, Superstar Soccer, and Calling All Mixels.

The Cartoon Network Facebook fan page has reached nearly 28M fans, attracting over 700K new fans since June. Total fans for the Cartoon Network portfolio, consisting of 28 Facebook pages, grew to nearly 150 MILLION this summer.
