 Disney Junior Generates January Highs for Disney Channel
~Marks 12th Consecutive Month Posting New Monthly Highs in Key Demos

Newcomer “Octonauts” is TV’s #1 Telecast in Boys 2-5

“Jake and the Never Land Pirates” is Cable’s #1 Series in Boys 2-5

Disney Junior: January 2012 Highlights:

Fresh off generating Disney Channel’s biggest annual audience in the daypart on record, during January 2012, Disney Junior delivered all-time January highs across all target demos, including Total Viewers (1.403 million), Kids 2-5 (525,000/3.1 rating), Boys 2-5 (277,000/3.3 rating), Girls 2-5 (247,000/3.0 rating) and Women 18-49 (304,000/0.5 rating), soaring by huge double-digit percent margins in target demos over year-ago levels.

Impressively, as the daypart nears its 1st anniversary, this marked the preschool block’s 12th straight month of posting monthly highs for the given month.

  • Year to year, Disney Junior posted impressive growth in key demos, including by 12% in Kids 2-5 (525,000 vs. 470,000), by 20% in Girls 2-5 (247,000 vs. 205,000) and by 15% in Women 18-49 (304,000 vs. 264,000).
  • The January 13 telecast of “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (9:30 – 9:55 a.m.) ranked as the month’s #1 preschool cable telecast in Kids 2-5 (1.0 million/6.2 rating), while the January 11 airing of new series, “Octonauts” was the #1 TV telecast in Boys 2-5 (616,000/7.2 rating).
  • Overall, with “Octonauts,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse,” Disney Channel delivered the Top 9 cable preschool telecasts among Boys 2-5.

  • In Boys 2-5, “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” (375,000/4.4 rating) ranked as the #1 series across all cable.
