Disney Channel – Summer 2010

Firing on all cylinders during Summer 2010, Disney Channel ranked as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 5th consecutive summer in Tweens 9-14 (674,000/2.8 rating) and for the 2nd straight summer in Kids 6-11 (777,000/3.2 rating – tie). Impressively, Disney Channel closed out the summer netting the channel’s 11th consecutive weekly win in Tweens 9-14 and 4th straight weekly victory in Kids 6-11.  In addition, this summer stood as the channel’s most-watched summer of all time in Total Day among Total Viewers (2.02 million) and top-rated in Kids 6-11 (3.2 rating – tied 2007 and 2009).

In Prime Disney Channel easily dominated the competition, ranking No. 1 in both Kids 6-11 (1.1 million/4.7 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (942,000/3.9 rating). In Total Viewers (2.8 million) the channel ranked as cable’s No. 2 network for the 3rd consecutive summer, surpassing third place TNT (2.5 million) by 12%.

Led by “Hannah Montana Forever” and newcomer “Good Luck Charlie,” Disney Channel was home to TV’s Top 7 series in Tweens 9-14, and the Top 5 live-action series in Kids 6-11. Moreover, for the second consecutive summer, “Phineas and Ferb” was the No. 1 animated series on TV in Tweens 9-14.

  • “Hannah Montana Forever” ranked as TV’s No. 1 series in Kids 6-11 (2.1 million/8.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million/8.5 rating).
  • “Hannah Montana Forever” held a wide-margin over the primary play of Nickelodeon’s “iCarly” (Saturdays, 8 p.m.), beating the show by 62% in Kids 6-11 (2.1 million vs. 1.3 million) and by 91% in Tweens 9-14 (2.1 million vs. 1.1 million).
  • “Good Luck Charlie” was the summer’s No. 2 TV series in Kids 6-11 (1.8 million/7.5 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million/7.0 rating).
  • “Good Luck Charlie” surpassed Nickelodeon’s primary “iCarly” run by a considerable 38% among Kids 6-11 (1.8 million vs. 1.3 million) and by 55% among Tweens 9-14 (1.7 million vs. 1.1 million).
  • “Phineas and Ferb” stood as TV’s No. 1 animated series in Tweens 9-14 (1.1 million/4.5 rating – tie), and was the No. 1 animated series on kid-targeted networks in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million/5.4 rating).
  • In Kids 6-11, Disney Channel delivered TV’s Top 6 live-action series, and 7 of the Top 10 series overall:
