Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for May 3 – 9, 2010

  • For the fifth straight week, Cartoon Network enjoyed solid double-digit ratings and delivery gains across all kids demos in prime time.  Compared to the same time period in 2009, average kids 6-11 prime time delivery (501,000) and ratings (2.0) grew by 25%, kids 2-11 prime time delivery (757,000) grew by 28% and ratings (1.8) by 20%, and kids 9-14 prime time delivery (347,000) grew by 16% and ratings (1.4) by 17%.
  • Cartoon Network’s new Monday night animated comedy line-up (8-10 p.m.) earned delivery gains between 7% – 36% across the board.  The newest hit series ADVENTURE TIME (8 p.m.) rocket-launched the evening with delivery gains ranging between 29% – 86%, and scored as the #1 show in its timeslot among boys 6-11 on all television.  Versus the same 2009 time period, kids 6-11 delivery (748,000) increased by 52%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,017,000) increased by 29% and kids 9-14 delivery (517,000) increased by 86%.  Delivery among boys 6-11 (531,000) improved by 33%, boys 2-11 delivery (698,000) improved by 18% and boys 9-14 delivery (367,000) improved by 64%.
  • On Friday night, Cartoon Network’s newest animated action-adventure series BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN (8 p.m.) and GENERATOR REX (8:30 p.m.) both charted #1 rankings in their timeslots among boys 6-11 and boys 2-11 on all television!  In fact, these performances provided Cartoon Networktwo of the Top Five TV telecasts of the entire day among boys 6-11—BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN ranked #1 and GENERATOR REX ranked #3.  Accordingly, delivery and ratings gains for both series showed remarkable growth vs. the 2009 time periods.  For BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN, kids 6-11 delivery (703,000) grew by 85% and boys 6-11 delivery (630,000) grew by 95%; kids 2-11 delivery (991,000) grew by 92% and boys 2-11 delivery (816,000) grew by 85%; and kids 9-14 delivery (534,000) grew by 90% and boys 9-14 delivery (503,000) grew by 113%.  For GENERATOR REX, kids 6-11 delivery (694,000) grew by 26% and boys 6-11 delivery (606,000) grew by 36%; Kids 2-11 delivery (964,000) grew by 31% and boys 2-11 delivery (792,000) grew by 30%; and kids 9-14 delivery (613,000) grew by 66% and boys 9-14 delivery (571,000) grew by 87%.
  • On Mother’s Day, Cartoon Network presented a full 13-hour marathon of Scooby-Doo movies and series programming (8 a.m.-9 p.m.).  With delivery and ratings gains of 29% – 74% across kids demos versus the Mother’s Day time period last year, the marathon concluded with a Sunday night FLICKS (7-9 p.m.) presentation—the Cartoon Network original movie SCOOBY-DOO! THE MYSTERY BEGINS—that posted solid gains as well.  Among the FLICKS highlights, average kids 6-11 delivery (559,000) grew by 62%, kids 2-11 delivery (877,000) grew by 64% and kids 9-14 delivery (337,000) grew by 16%.
