Cartoon Network & Adult Swim Ratings Highlights for April 12 – 18, 2010

CARTOON NETWORK:

  • Charting three consecutive weeks of double-digit prime time growth, Cartoon Network earned betwwen 12% – 23% increases across key kid demos last week, April 12-18, 2010.  Overall kids 6-11 prime time delivery (543,000) grew by 18% and ratings (2.2) by 16%; kids 2-11 prime time delivery (789,000) grew by 16% and ratings (1.9) by 12%; and kids 9-14 prime time delivery (381,000) grew by 19% and ratings (1.6) by 23%.
  • Among its prime time programming, the new schedule of animated comedy programming on Monday nights provided much of the fuel behind the network’s significant growth.  The overall block (Monday, 8-10 p.m.) propelled overall kids 6-11 (583,000) by 19%, kids 2-11 delivery (836,000) by 20%, and kids 9-14 delivery (431,000) by 39%.
  • Cartoon Network’s newest bonafide animated hit ADVENTURE TIME (Monday, 8 p.m.) scored delivery gains across all kids and boys demos between 39% – 93%.  Kids 6-11 delivery (793,000) increased by 47%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,130,000) increased by 53%, and kids 9-14 delivery (592,000) increased by 88%.  Boys demos proved even stronger, with boys 6-11 delivery (561,000) increasing by 39%, boys 2-11 delivery (815,000) increasing by 51%, and boys 9-14 delivery (456,000) increasing by 93%.
  • Similarly, all comedies on Monday earned solid ratings and delivery gains.  A premiere episode of FLAPJACK (8:30 p.m.) saw kids 6-11 delivery (594,000) improve by 11%, kids 2-11 delivery (849,000) improve by 14%, and kids 9-14 delivery (446,000) improve by 38%.
  • On the action-adventure front, Friday night’s presentation of an all-new episode of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS (9 p.m.) earned remarkable double-digit growth among all kids and boys demos: kids 6-11 delivery (741,000) increased by 59%, kids 2-11 delivery (921,000) increased by 64%, kids 9-14 delivery (625,000) increased by 88%, boys 6-11 delivery (642,000) increased by 61%, boys 2-11 delivery (783,000) increased by 63%, and boys 9-14 delivery (567,000) increased by 85%.

ADULT SWIM:

  • The late-night powerhouse Adult Swim once again earned double-digit total day delivery gains across its targeted young adult and young male demos, ranking #1for the week among all ad-supported basic cable networks.  Across the week, adults 18-34 delivery (517,000) grew by 12%, adults 18-24 delivery (315,000) grew by 22%, men 18-34 delivery (296,000) grew by 11%, and men 18-24 delivery (191,000) grew by 21%.  Even adults 18-49 delivery (690,000) grew by 9%.
  • Among its original programming, AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE (Sunday, 12 a.m.) scored 20% delivery growth among adults 18-34 (820,000), 7% delivery growth among adults 18-24 (467,000), and 10% delivery growth among adults 18-49 (1,021,000).
  • Overall for the week, Adult Swim telecasts–including FAMILY GUY, ROBOT CHICKEN, THE BOONDOCKS and AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE–accounted for 20 of the Top 50 telecasts of the week on basic cable among adults 18-34.
