New York, NY, December 6, 2004 – The N, the nighttime network for teens, will kick off the New Year by adding the half-hour sitcom, Moesha, to its programming lineup as the critically acclaimed comedy series makes its cable debut. The N gives viewers a chance to catch up on the hilarious teen series by presenting a two-night marathon of the first two seasons of Moesha, on Saturday, January 1, from 6:00 p.m. – Midnight, ET (Season One) and Sunday, January 2, from 6:00 – Midnight, ET (Season Two).

Beginning Monday, January 3 at 7:00 p.m. (ET), Moesha will move into its regular weekday timeslot with two back-to-back episodes premiering every Monday – Friday, from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. (ET), following back-to-back episodes of its lead-in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (6:00 – 7:00 p.m., ET).

In addition to star Brandy, Moesha’s slate of guest stars features some of the hottest names in the lives of today’s teens: Usher, Gabrielle Union, Bernie Mac, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine Dupri, Mary J. Blige, Lil’ Bow Wow, and many more.

“We are thrilled to add Moesha to The N’s programming lineup,” said Sarah Tomassi Lindman, Vice President, Programming and Production, The N. “The series fits perfectly within our mission to be the authentic voice of teens.”

One of America’s favorite teenagers and most popular sitcoms on TV, Moesha stars the Grammy Award-winning superstar singer/actress Brandy as Moesha Mitchell, a vivacious young woman juggling romance, college, ever-changing family dynamics and friendships. At every turn, Moesha — along with her friends and family — experiences hilarious new challenges associated with the pressures and demands of fledgling adulthood. The critically acclaimed Moesha was honored with two SHINE (Sexual Health IN Entertainment) Awards from The Media Project, and was recognized as an outstanding series in the Museum of Television & Radio’s William S. Paley 1999 Television Festival. It also received a Parents’ Choice Honor for realistically portraying a modern middle-class family.

The family portrayed, the Mitchell’s, is led by Frank (WILLIAM ALLEN YOUNG), a Saturn dealer and devoted dad; Dee (SHERYL LEE RALPH), a dedicated educator with additional roles as wife and stepmother; Myles (MARCUS T. PAULK), a pre-teen with boundless curiosity and cynicism; Frank’s charming yet rebellious son Dorian (RAY J) — who the family previously knew only as Frank’s nephew; and Moesha (BRANDY), a college sophomore in the midst of shaping her own identity. When not at home with her family, Moesha lives in the dorm on the California University campus with her boy-crazy friend, Niecy (SHAR JACKSON), and hangs out with their neighborhood friend and Moesha’s erstwhile love interest, Hakeem Campbell (LAMONT BENTLEY).

The series was created by Vida Spears, Sara V. Finney and Ralph Farquhar. Moesha is a production of Big Ticket Television, a Paramount/Viacom Company.
