KIDS’ WB! Announces 1999-2000 Fall Schedule

“Pokémon” To Air Six Days A Week Exclusively On Kids’ WB!; All-New Episodes Of “Batman Beyond” Set For Saturdays With Series Joining Weekday Line-Up; Plus New Animated Series “Detention” On Saturday Mornings

Kids’ WB! will kick-off its new 1999-2000 season beginning Saturday, September 4. The fall schedule includes “Pokémon” six days a week, all-new episodes of “Batman Beyond” Saturday mornings with surprise bonus episodes twice a week in the Monday through Friday line-up and the debut of the new animated series “Detention.”

“Pokémon,” the 1998-99 season’s #1 kids series on broadcast television among the key demographics of Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11, Boys 2-11 and Boys 6-11, will take over the airwaves exclusively on Kids’ WB! this season — twice a day, six days a week, beginning with its second season premiere on Saturday, September 4. The hit series will air Monday through Friday at 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and returns to Saturday mornings in the 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. time periods, bringing 52 all-new episodes and never-before-seen Pokémon to Kids’ WB!

During the week of September 6-11, Kids’ WB! will give kids what they want – episodes featuring the top 20 Pokémon characters voted for by viewers in the “Kids’ WB! Top 20 Poké-thon Countdown.”

Also on Saturday, September 11, Kids’ WB! will debut the new series, “Detention” (10:30 a.m.), an animated pro-social comedy from Warner Bros. Television Animation, which takes an insider’s look at eight quirky, smart, independent pre-teens who just can’t stay out of trouble while trying to survive “being twelve years old.” The series features the voices of real-life twin sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry (“Sister, Sister”), Tara Charendoff (“Batman,” “The Rugrats ………Movie”) Billy West (“Futurama,” “The Ren & Stimpy Show”), Carlos Alazraqui (“Catdog”) and many others. “Detention” will have a sneak peak airing on Friday, September 10 (4:00 p.m.).

The week of September 13-17, the weekday line-up will welcome “Batman Beyond” with a special airing at 4:00 p.m. each day and a sneak preview of the season premiere on Friday, September 17 (4:30 p.m.). In addition, the “Poké-thon” will continue throughout the week.

The Kids’ WB! official Saturday schedule will debut in-pattern on September 18, highlighted with the premiere of the second season of the new millennium’s “Batman Beyond” in its new 9:00 a.m. time period. This season, the series will introduce Max, a strong-willed African-American teenage girl who has become Terry’s closest confidant.

The Saturday line-up also includes the premiere of “The New Batman/Superman Adventures” (8:00 a.m.); “Pokémon” (8:30 a.m.); “Men In Black: The Series” (9:30 a.m.), debuting its third season with 14 all-new episodes of in-your-face comedy and action-adventure on October 2; “Pokémon” again at 10:00 a.m.; the all-new “The Cat-And-Bunny-Warneroonie-Super-Looney-Big-Cartoonie-Show” (11:00 a.m.), including original interstitial wrap-arounds and kid-tested favorite Warner Bros. classics; and new episodes of “The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries” (11:30 a.m.).

The official weekday schedule will premiere in-pattern on Monday, September 20, starting off the morning with “Pokémon” (7:00 a.m.) and followed by “Warner Bros.’ Histeria!” (7:30 a.m.). The afternoon line-up will include “The Big Cartoonie Show” (3:00 p.m.), “Pokémon” (3:30 p.m.) and America’s favorite superheroes in an hour-block of “The New Batman/Superman Adventures” (4:00-5:00 p.m.) with special bonus episodes of “Batman Beyond” airing twice a week.
