Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for November 15 – 21, 2010

Cartoon Network’s overall prime time performance last week earned solid delivery gains compared to the same 2009 time period—average kids 6-11 delivery (540,000) grew by 9% and ratings (2.2) by 10%, and kids 2-11 delivery (766,000) grew by 6% while ratings (1.8) were unchanged.

Cartoon Network’s Live-Action Mystery Series “Tower Prep” Premieres October 19

From creator Paul Dini (Lost, Batman Beyond) and executive producer Glen Morgan (X-Files, Millennium, Final Destination) comes Tower Prep, Cartoon Network’s new hour-long, live-action mystery. The series pilot was written by Dini and helmed by prolific television director Terry McDonough (The Gates, Breaking Bad). Tower Prep tells the story of Ian Archer – played by stand out up-and-comer Drew Van Acker – a budding hero who wakes up one morning to find himself at a mysterious academy for teens with special abilities.

Cartoon Network Upfront 2009

Cartoon Network announced a dramatic expansion to its 2009-2010 content development strategy today at its annual advertising Upfront presentation at Time Warner Center. On the heels of three consecutive quarters of double-digit prime time and total day growth—the only major kids network to do so—Cartoon Network unveiled 19 new programming ventures, including three new action-adventure and four new comedy animated series; six live-action “alternative” half-hour series; three original live-action and one all-new CG-animated movie specials; and two hour-long original, scripted live-action pilots. Coupled with 164 new half-hour episodes of returning comedy and action-adventure animated series, today’s announcements represent the largest commitment to new content development in Cartoon Network history.
