Nickelodeon Scores Its Most-Watched Quarter Ever, Marks 64 Straight Quarters at #1
Nickelodeon’s 1Q11 performance marks the network’s 64th straight quarter as basic cable’s top total day network with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and total viewers,–the longest streak of its kind. According to Nielsen Media Research (12/27/10-3/27/11), the network also posted its most-watched quarter ever with total viewers (2.4 million) and averaged a 3.7/1.3 million kids 2-11, 3.2/687,000 kids 6-11, and 2.3/481,000 tweens 9-14.

Nick Upfront 2011: 450 Episodes of New Animated Programming
Nickelodeon, the global leader in television animation, will introduce 450 episodes of new animation programming over the next three years, with nearly 200 episodes rolling out on Saturday mornings in 2012. Representing the largest amount of animation production in the network’s history, the new roster includes current hits like SpongeBob SquarePants, The Penguins of Madagascar, Fanboy and Chum Chum, T.U.F.F. Puppy, and the brand-new series The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra–a spinoff of Avatar: The Last Airbender; Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness–Nick’s latest partnership with DreamWorks Animation; a new CG series, Robot & Monster; and the Italian import Winx Club. And in fourth quarter 2012, Nickelodeon will premiere a new CG-animated version of the wildly popular franchise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Nickelodeon Upfront 2011
During its upfront presentation held today at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City, Nickelodeon underscored its leadership position by unveiling plans for brand-new content, more of its top-rated hits and big events that span its entire kids and family portfolio. Punctuated by celebrity appearances and exclusive music performances, Nick’s upfront event opened with Victoria Justice, star of the hit Victorious, debuting her brand-new single, “Beggin’ on Your Knees,” live for the first time. Guest appearances included iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove and Jerry Trainor–who is also the voice of Nick’s hit T.U.F.F. Puppy; the cast of Victorious; and Nickelodeon alumnus Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live, All That, Kenan & Kel).

2011 Kids’ Choice Awards Host and Nominees Announced
Always unpredictable and full of surprises, actor/comedian Jack Black will take viewers on a wild ride as he returns to host Nickelodeon’s 2011 Kids’ Choice Awards, premiering live on Saturday, April 2, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/Tape delayed for West Coast). Back by popular demand, Black, who will star in the upcoming film Kung Fu Panda 2, returns for the third time (2006 and 2008) to host the ultimate kid experience from the all-new venue, the Galen Center at USC in Los Angeles. Honoring the hottest celebrities from music, TV, sports and film, viewers will embark on the most extreme, slime-tastic night to remember.

Nickelodeon Wraps Up “Crush Week” With Nicktoon Premieres, New “iCarly” & “True Jackson”
Nickelodeon’s “Crush Week” concludes this Saturday, Feb. 12, with its most crushable programming yet. In an all-new iCarly, “iHire an Idiot,” at 8:00 p.m. (all times ET/PT), Carly and Sam hire a cute guy as an intern, but he turns out to be more trouble than he’s worth. The crush-fest continues with romance-themed episodes of Big Time Rush, True Jackson, VP and Victorious, plus behind-the-scenes clips of making Big Time Rush’s new video, “Girlfriend.”

Nickelodeon is 2010′s Top-Ranked Cable Network, Marks 16 Years as Number One
Driven by ratings juggernauts iCarly and SpongeBob SquarePants, Nickelodeon will finish 2010 in first place among all basic cable networks in total day–for the 16th straight year–among total viewers (P2+) and all kid demos, for the year to date (12/28/09-12/12/10) according to Nielsen Media Research. Nickelodeon also closes the year averaging 2.3 million viewers P2+ and a 3.5/1.2 million K2-11, 3.1/680,000 K6-11, 2.3/498,000 T9-14, besting the closest competitor by double-digits with all key kid demos and total viewers.
