Posted on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 by News ArchiverScoring its highest total-day ratings with kids 2-11 and total viewers in four years, Nickelodeon has completed First Quarter 2002 as basic cable’s number-one network on a 24-hour basis--extending its household reign at the top spot to 26 consecutive quarters. For 1Q ’02 with kids 2-11 in total day, Nick averaged a 3.1/21 rating and share (986,000 average kid viewers)—increases of +3% in rating and +7% in delivery over last year’s like time period. The network’s 24-hour average of 1.8 million total viewers for 1Q ’02 marks an +11% lift over like time period last year. -

Posted on Tuesday, March 12, 2002 by News ArchiverWith changes afoot next season in the Saturday-morning TV landscape, Nickelodeon–the number-one entertainment brand for kids--will broaden its offerings and introduce a new programming block for The CBS Television Network’s Saturday-morning children’s schedule, it was announced today by Cyma Zarghami, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Nickelodeon. Beginning in September 2002, kids will get more of their favorite Nick shows on CBS on Saturday mornings --including The Wild Thornberrys and Hey Arnold!--as some of Nickelodeon’s most popular animated series with kids 2-11 make their broadcast television debut. The new series being added to the schedule will be combined with the established Nick Jr. preschool favorites to serve a wider kids 2-11 audience on CBS’s Saturday mornings. -

Nickelodeon Announces 2001-02 Programming Pick-Ups
Posted on Wednesday, July 25, 2001 by News ArchiverAffirming its ongoing commitment to original programming, Nickelodeon has picked up 13 episodes each of the brand-new comedy series The Nick Cannon Show and the newly cast All That, both set to launch Saturday, Sept. 29, in prime time in SNICK (Saturday Night Nickelodeon). The network also has renewed five hit freshmen shows for their second seasons beginning in fall 2001, including As Told By Ginger (20 episodes), The Fairly OddParents (14), Invader ZIM (20), Pelswick (13) and Taina (13). The Nick Jr. preschool favorite Maggie and the Ferocious Beast also has been renewed for 13 episodes.
