Nick Continues Olympic Celebration With “Dora” and “Team Umizoomi” Primetime Specials August 13

Nickelodeon continues to celebrate a sports-filled summer with new primetime specials of preschool favorites Dora the Explorer and Team Umizoomi on Monday, Aug. 13. First, Dora gets the chance to perform a special ribbon dance in “Dora’s Fantastic Gymnastics Adventure,” at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT). For the week of March 26, 2012, Disney Junior on Disney Channel delivered the week’s #1 TV series in target preschoolers aged 2-5 with newcomer “Doc McStuffins” and the Top 3 TV series in Boys 2-5 with “Doc McStuffins,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” Moreover, on the heels of its week-ago record debut, “Doc McStuffins” accounted for the week’s Top 2 TV telecasts in Kids 2-5 (Top 5 among preschool series only) and the Top 3 TV telecasts in Boys 2-5. Nickelodeon Ratings Highlights for January 16 – 22, 2012

Nickelodeon’s iCarly scored the top entertainment telecast for the week (1/16-1/22/12) with a new episode titled “iToe Fat Cakes,” (Saturday, Jan. 21 at 8p.m. ET/PT), drawing 4.8 million viewers (up +62% over last year’s time period). The half-hour episode ranks as this week’s number-one entertainment program with kid and tween demos, posting double and triple-digit gains and averaging a 7.1/2.5 million (+54%) K2-11, 9.4/2 million (+68%) K6-11, and 8.9/1.9 million (+128%) T9-14. Nickelodeon closed May as basic cable’s number-one total day network with total viewers (2.0 million), kids 2-11 (3.1/1.1 million), kids 6-11 (2.6/571,000), tweens 9-14 (1.9/407,000) and kids 2-5 (3.9/563,000). Nick’s win was driven by hit live-action series, Victorious and ratings phenomenon, SpongeBob SquarePants, which rank as the top live-action and animated series, respectively, with kids and tweens across all TV for the month. Nickelodeon also bested its closest competitor by double digits with total viewers (+31%), kids 2-11 (+24%) and kids 2-5 (+70%). Read more →

Nickelodeon Closes April 2011 As the #1 Total Day Cable Net; iOMG Scores 8.8 Million Viewers

Nickelodeon continued its 2011 winning streak, closing April as basic cable’s number-one total day network with total viewers (2.2 million), kids 2-11 (3.4/1.2 million), and kids 6-11 (2.9/626,000). The nets monthly win was fueled by strong performances by iCarly, which scored basic cable’s top entertainment telecast with total viewers (8.8 million) with “iOMG” (Saturday, April 9, 8 p.m. ET/PT), and the newest addition to the net’s hit preschool roster Bubble Guppies, which continues to top as the number-one preschool series on all TV. iCarly also ranks as basic cable’s top entertainment program with total viewers and the month’s top series on broadcast and basic cable with kids 2-11, kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14.
