Cartoon Network scored solid double-digit prime time delivery and ratings growth among kids 2-11 across the month of August, according to initial data from Nielsen Media Research. Versus the same 2009 time period, the monthly average kids 2-11 delivery (762,000) grew by 22% and ratings (1.9) by 27%. Also in prime time, kids 6-11 delivery (484,000) grew by 6% while ratings (2.0) increased by 5%. In Total Day, average monthly kids 2-11 delivery (640,000) improved by 9% and ratings (1.6) grew by 14%.

Across the 3rd week of August 2010, Cartoon Network attracted double-digit gains among kids 2-11 in Total Day, and significant single-digit gains in Prime Time. Compared to the same week in 2009, Total Day delivery among kids 2-11 (667,000) grew by 24% and ratings (1.6) by 23%. In Prime Time, weekly average kids 2-11 delivery (703,000) increased by 7% and ratings (1.7) by 6%.

Building on the huge ratings win from last spring’s second season finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Cartoon Network announced today it will premiere 22 all-new episodes for season three of the critically acclaimed CG-animated series from creator George Lucas and Lucasfilm Animation. The special, one-hour season three premiere event of Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs Friday, September 17, at 9 p.m. (et/pt).

Throughout the first week of August 2010, Cartoon Network scored across-the-board prime time delivery and ratings gains among its targeted kid demos, including double-digit increases among kids 6-11 and kids 2-11. Compared to the same time period last year, prime time kids 6-11 delivery (485,000) and ratings (2.0) increased by 11%; kids 2-11 delivery (770,000) increased by 30% and ratings (1.9) by 36%; and kids 9-14 delivery (336,000) increased by 3% and ratings (1.4) by 8%.

In Total Day, average monthly kids 6-11 delivery (402,000) improved by 9% and ratings (1.6) grew by 7%, while kids 2-11 delivery (625,000) and ratings (1.5) both improved by 25%. Kids 9-14 average monthly delivery (289,000) grew by 1% and ratings were unchanged.

Launching into July 2010, Cartoon Network scored significant Total Day ratings and delivery gains across all kids demos compared to the same 2009 time period: average kids 6-11 ratings (1.5) and delivery (371,000) both improved by 7%, kids 2-11 ratings (1.3) improved by 18% and delivery (545,000) by 16%, and kids 9-14 ratings (1.2) improved by 9% and delivery (282,000) by 2%. In prime time, average kids 2-11 ratings (1.5) grew by 7% and delivery (605,000) by 4%.
