Extended Disney Replay Block Continues in September

It would seem that Disney Channel has made the extended weekly Disney Replay block a permanent thing. Through September, the block will continue to air on late-Wednesday nights (early Thursday mornings) from midnight through 6am ET/PT.

Disney Channel Ratings Highlights for May 30 – June 5, 2011

During the week of May 30, owning the week’s Top 2 TV telecasts with the series debut of “So Random!” and a Season 2 high performance by “Good Luck Charlie,” Disney Channel ranked as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day among Tweens 9-14 (534,000/2.2 rating) for the 6th straight week, and for the 24th time in the previous 27 weeks. In addition, this week stood as Disney Channel’s most-watched week among Kids 6-11 in 19 weeks (650,000/2.6 rating) and among Tweens 9-14 in 17 weeks – since weeks of 1/17/11 and 1/31/11, respectively.

“So Random!” Premieres Sunday, June 5 on Disney Channel

Featuring an ensemble of talented young actors, the comedy series “So Random!,” first introduced in “Sonny With A Chance,” will air SUNDAY, JUNE 5 (8:30 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel. The series will feature original comedic vignettes parodying pop culture and a wide variety of everyday life, big and small.

Demi Lovato Leaves “Sonny With A Chance”

Demi Lovato tells People that she is leaving Disney Channel’s Sonny With A Chance series. “It made sense for me to go ahead and leave the show to focus on my music,” she said. “It’s kind of sad for me that a chapter of my life has ended but there couldn’t be a better time for me to move on.”

Disney Channel Ratings Highlights for January 2011

Boasting TV’s Top 10 scripted telecasts fronted my multiple telecasts of “Good Luck Charlie,” “Shake It Up” and “The Suite Life on Deck,” Disney Channel ranked as TV’s No. 1 network in Total Day for the 9th consecutive month among Tweens 9-14 (549,000/2.3 rating), delivering its largest January audience on record in the target demo, as well as among Total Viewers (1.81 million) and Kids 6-11 (673,000/2.7 rating). Impressively, January 11 became the channel’s most-watched non-summer month in its history in the same key demographics. Year to year, Disney Channel posted solid double-digit percent gains in Kids 6-11 (+12% – 673,000 vs. 600,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+10% – 549,000 vs. 499,000).

Disney Channel and Disney XD Get Into the Holiday Spirit Starting November 28

Disney Channel and Disney XD spread the holiday cheer with all new seasonal episodes of “Sonny with a Chance,” “The Suite Life on Deck,” “Phineas and Ferb,” “Zeke and Luther,” “Handy Manny” and “Special Agent Oso” beginning SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 28. The season includes Joe Jonas guest starring in a new special, “So Random!,” based on the sketch comedy show seen in the hit series “Sonny with a Chance,” and a multi-platform presentation of the holiday classic in the making, “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation” (in an extended edition), on Disney Channel, Disney XD, ABC Family and the ABC Television Network. Last year the premiere of “Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation” set all-time high ratings records for Disney XD, delivering 2.88 million Total Viewers and series ratings highs on Disney Channel, where it delivered 5.21 million Total Viewers.

Delivering the week’s No. 1 series telecast with “The Suite Life on Deck,” and 5 of the Top 10 series telecasts overall, Disney Channel was TV’s No. 1 in Total Day for the 19th consecutive week among Tweens 9-14 (1.9 rating – tie). In Prime, the channel registered its 286th consecutive weekly win among Kids 6-11 (982,000/4.0 rating) and placed No. 1 for the 283rd time in the prior 286 weeks among Tweens 9-14 (847,000/3.5 rating).

Disney Channel’s Ratings Highlights for August 23 – 29, 2010

Fueled by Friday and Sunday’s “Night of Premieres,” Disney Channel was the week’s No. 1 TV network in Total Day among Kids 6-11 (700,000/2.8 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (599,000/2.5 rating), towering over Nickelodeon by a considerable 22% in the Tween demo (599,000 vs. 490,000). This marked the third consecutive week that Disney Channel outdelivered Nickelodeon among Kids 6-11 (700,000 vs. 647,000), and the 11th week in a row among Tweens 9-14.

July 2010 Becomes Disney Channel’s Most Watched July, 2nd Most-Watched Month Ever

Powered by the season premiere of “Hannah Montana Forever” and series-high performances by “Sonny With a Chance” and “Good Luck Charlie,” July 2010 wrapped as Disney Channel’s most-watched July ever in Total Day in Total Viewers (2.1 million), ranking as the net’s 2nd most-watched month on record, behind only “High School Musical 2”-fueled August 2007. Disney Channel stood as the month’s No. 1 TV network in Total Day in Kids 6-11 (837,000/3.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (730,000/3.0 rating), topping runner-up Nickelodeon by 9% (837,000 vs. 769,000) and by a huge 26% (730,000 vs. 581,000), respectively.

Disney Channel Ratings Highlights for July 12 – 18, 2010

Disney Channel was the week’s No. 1 TV network in Total Day in Tweens 9-14 (789,000/3.2 rating) for the 5th week running, and in Kids 6-11 (893,000/3.6 rating) for the 3rd consecutive week. In Prime, Disney Channel remains TV’s No. 1 network in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million/5.2 rating) for the 272nd consecutive week, and with the streak at 269 out of 272 weeks, in Tweens 9-14 (1.0 million/4.3 rating).
