“Motorcity” Premieres April 30 on Disney XD
Posted on Thursday, April 5, 2012 by BryanDisney XD is set to premiere "Motorcity," a turbo-charged animated series set in futuristic Detroit, controlled by an evil billionaire who bans personal freedoms, including automobiles. Now it's up to The Burners, a group of rebels led by 17-year-old Mike Chilton, to customize their fleet of cool hot rods and set out to stop Kane from taking over their last oasis of freedom, a subterranean refuge dubbed Motorcity. The series, created, executive produced and directed by noted animation veteran Chris Prynoski ("Metalocalypse"), premieres MONDAY, APRIL 30 (9:00–9:30 p.m., ET/PT). -

Posted on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 by BryanAfter delivering a year of best-ever ratings across each of its kid-driven, family inclusive platforms, and deepening its strong connection with kids and parents, especially moms, Disney showcased an unprecedented amount of new programming that's to come -- an expanded slate of 13 new original series (part of 435 total original episodes in 2011, a 30% increase from last year, not including acquisitions) and additional new titles in the blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie franchise at its annual presentation to advertisers today at New York's Gotham Hall. -
Disney XD Starts Production on the Animated Series “Motorcity”
Posted on Monday, October 11, 2010 by BryanProduction has begun on "Motorcity," an animated series set in a futuristic Detroit after it has been purchased and built into Detroit Deluxe by evil billionaire Abraham Kane. Kane, having banned personal freedoms including automobile transportation, is ultimately challenged by a group of rebels who call themselves The Burners. Led by 17-year-old Mike Chilton, The Burners retreat to an underground city, customize their fleet of hot rods and pursue their quest to stop Kane from taking over the world. The series, created by Chris Prynoski and produced by Disney Television Animation and Titmouse, Inc., is slated to premiere next year on the burgeoning Disney XD, which offers a compelling mix of live-action and animated programming for kids age 6-14, hyper-targeting boys and their quest for discovery, accomplishment, sports, adventure and humor. The announcement was made today by Eric Coleman, Senior Vice President, Original Series, Disney Television Animation.
