Posted on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 by BryanSpringboarding off its 2010 ratings growth across key kids and boys demos, in which series/specials Adventure Time, Dude, What Would Happen, Generator Rex and Hall of Game helped propel the network to new heights, Cartoon Network described its plans for building new global franchises today as it unveiled a broad slate of new content for 2011 at its annual Advertising Upfront presentation. Thirteen new animated series, 19 returning shows, and the network’s newest live-action scripted comedy series, Level Up, which will launch with a 90-minute original movie, will debut over the next year. The morning’s announcements also spotlighted a new partnership between Warner Bros., DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network in which the three entertainment brands would unite their powerful assets in publishing, theatrical and television to create a multi-platform block of exclusive branded original content on the network named, DC Nation. -
“Adventure Time” Premieres in Canada on TELETOON on March 20

This block will kick off with the premiere of Adventure Time at 6 p.m. ET/PT and will showcase other popular TELETOON series Jimmy Two-Shoes, Johnny Test and Chowder and also becomes the exclusive place to find other TELETOON favourites Total Drama World Tour, Stoked, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack and Camp Lazlo. -

Posted on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 by BryanFor the first week of February 2011, Cartoon Network earned solid delivery gains vs. the same week last year and the previous four weeks, particularly among older kids 6-11 and 9-14. Compared to the 2010 time period, average early evening prime time kids 6-11 delivery (603,000) grew by 3% and kids 9-14 delivery (446,000) by 18%; vs. the prior four weeks, kids 6-11 delivery increased by 12%, kids 2-11 delivery (883,000) by 8% and kids 9-14 delivery by 15%. In Total Day, average kids 6-11 delivery (359,000) grew by 5% and kids 9-14 delivery (252,000) by 8%; vs. the prior four weeks, kids 6-11 delivery increased by 11%, kids 2-11 delivery (559,000) by 9% and kids 9-14 delivery by 7%. -
