Disney XD Ratings Highlights for 2012

Disney XD rocketed to its biggest year in the network’s history (including its 10 years as Toon Disney) with solid ratings from its growing array of original series — most notably its top three live-action comedies , “Lab Rats,” “Pair of Kings” and “Kickin’ It” – in addition to the hit Marvel animated series “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” and “Ultimate Spider-Man.”Yearly ratings records were achieved in both Prime and Total Day in Total Viewers and all key kid and boy demographics, 2-11, 6-14, 6-11 and 9-14, rising by solid margins over year-ago results. November 2012 ranked as Disney XD’s #1 most-watched month in Prime in the network’s history (includes its 10 years as Toon Disney) in target demos Kids 6-14 (289,000), Boys 6-14 (172,000), Kids 6-11 (224,000), Boys 6-11 (131,000), Tweens 9-14 (200,000), Boys 9-14 (121,000), Kids 2-11 (284,000) and Boys 2-11 (163,000), and its #2 month on record in Total Viewers (472,000), posting across-the-board double-digit increases. These record deliveries were powered by series highs for newest original series “Crash & Bernstein,” solid outings for live-action series “Kickin It” and “Lab Rats,” and high performing movies from PIXAR’s “Toy Story” franchise. Disney XD Announces the Premiere of “Slugterra” and Halloween Programming on October 15

“Slugterra,” a sci-fi comedy adventure set in a fantastical underground world, debuts MONDAY, OCTOBER 15 (3:30 p.m., ET/PT), with new episodes premiering Monday through Friday on Disney XD. In addition, Disney XD will celebrate this year’s spookiest holiday by unveiling a ghoulish slate of Halloween-themed episodes, during its “Monster-Sized Monday Mayhem” programming event Monday, October 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT. Disney XD’s “Crash & Bernstein” Starts Production, Premieres This Fall

Production has begun in Hollywood, California, on “Crash & Bernstein,” a live action comedy series — with hand puppetry — that follows Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, whose new puppet, Crash, comes to life and becomes his loud-mouthed surrogate brother who knows no limits. The multi-camera series is scheduled to premiere in fall 2012 on Disney XD. The puppet was designed and built by Chiodo Brothers Productions, Inc, based in Burbank, California. Read more →

Disney XD Orders Live-Action Puppet Comedy “Crash & Bernstein”

Disney XD has ordered “Crash & Bernstein,” a live-action comedy — with puppetry — about 14-year-old Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, who finally gets his dream of having a loud-mouthed brother when his puppet, Crash, comes to life. Crash brings Wyatt some much needed “boy reinforcement” amidst a household of sisters. Created by Eric Friedman (“Austin & Ally,” “I’m In The Band”), the multi-camera series will begin production in Hollywood in May for a Fall 2012 premiere on Disney XD.
