Show of the Year

For 2008 and 2009, Nick and More! has asked visitors of the site vote for their favorite show that aired during that year.  Users nominated three shows with the conditions that the show must have aired at least one new episode during the course of that year and must be a show on the networks of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network or Disney.

2008 – Avatar: The Last Airbender

Nominations took place at Nick and More!’s old forums at ProBoards between December 24 and 31, 2008.  SpongeBob SquarePants, iCarly, My Family’s Got GUTS, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Fairly OddParents, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, The Secret Saturdays and Total Drama Island all moved on to the final voting round.  With a total of 21 unique voters, Avatar: The Last Airbender won with 28.5% of the vote and was named Show of the Year 2008 on January 10, 2009.

2009 – iCarly

From December 20 – 31, 2009, visitors voted at SurveyMonkey between Back at the Barnyard, The Fairly OddParents, iCarly, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, The Penguins of Madagascar and SpongeBob SquarePants.  With 70 unique voters, iCarly won with 50% of the vote and was named Show of the Year 2009 on January 1, 2010.

Best New Show of the Year

Starting in 2010, instead of a general show of the year, the end-of-the-year event was changed to a best new show format, including all new series that premiered between December 1 (of the previous year) and November 30 (of the current year) on the networks of Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Disney XD and The Hub (excluding preschool series). From December 1 – 15, visitors are asked to select their top 3 new shows. From December 16 – 30, visitors vote for their 1 favorite show based on the top 10 in the first round’s poll. The winner is announced on December 31.

2010 – My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

3,059 people voted between December 1 and 15 for their top three new shows of the year out of 41. From December 16 to 30, 1,573 people voted for their top favorite show out of the top 10. On December 31, with 647 votes (41%), My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic won the “Best New Show of 2010” title!

2011 –

Vote now in the round 1 poll! Make sure to come back between December 16 – 30 to vote in the final round and also on December 31 to find out the winner!
