Disney XD’s “Crash & Bernstein” Starts Production, Premieres This Fall

Production has begun in Hollywood, California, on “Crash & Bernstein,” a live action comedy series — with hand puppetry — that follows Wyatt Bernstein, the only son among four kids, whose new puppet, Crash, comes to life and becomes his loud-mouthed surrogate brother who knows no limits. The multi-camera series is scheduled to premiere in fall 2012 on Disney XD. The puppet was designed and built by Chiodo Brothers Productions, Inc, based in Burbank, California.

Disney Channel Renews “Good Luck Charlie” for Fourth Season

A fourth season has been ordered for Disney Channel’s “Good Luck Charlie,” a hugely popular family sitcom that recently delivered the #1 cable telecast of the week (8.9 million, L+7 data) and the #1 telecast of the entire second quarter 2012 among Kids 6-11 (4 million, L+7 data) and Tweens (3.7 million, L+7 data). The announcement was made today by Adam Bonnett, Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide.

Saban Brands Launches Vortexx Programming Block on The CW August 25

Viacom Nets Go Dark on DirecTV

Viacom, the media giant that owns MTV Networks (which owns Nickelodeon), has pulled their networks off satellite company DirecTV’s line-up. That means Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, TeenNick and Nick Jr. are all unavailable to DirecTV subscribers as of 11:46pm ET on Tuesday, July 10.
