TV Guide reports, iCarly will end later this year on Nickelodeon. In a not so very expected move, the announcement also came from Nickelodeon themselves… on Nick.com, nonetheless! (It’s rare that a kids network actually tells fans when a show is ending – before it actually ends.)

iCarly is currently in their fifth production season. The show will film the last episode in June, with an expected premiere in November.

The once ratings juggernaut, which scored almost 12 million viewers with the “iSaved Your Life” special in January 2010, has slipped to series low (or at least near low) ratings in recent months for premieres. The series, which has aired four or more times per day in the past, has also now been reduced to a handful of airings per week, indicating the dwindling ratings for repeats – a necessity for kids cable shows.

iCarly follows a line of hit Nickelodeon series created by Dan Schneider, including The Amanda Show, Drake & Josh, Zoey 101 and VICTORiOUS. The hit maker has also worked on Nick classics All That and Kenan & Kel.

Schneider has at least two new comedy pilots in development for Nickelodeon, one each for iCarly stars Jennette McCurdy and Noah Munck. Stick around to find out if they move on to full series commitments, but given his track record, it’s almost a sure thing.
