Five unsuspecting teens--Jake, Rachel, Marco, Cassie and Tobias--discover a dying alien, an Andalite prince named Elfangor, who communicates with them telepathically. Elfangor warns them the Earth has been invaded by the evil Yeerks--green, slug-like creatures who enslave their victims by taking control of their minds. Elfangor gives the group a unique Andalite gift--the ability to morph into any animal they touch. Now the five Animorphs must use their newly acquired powers to battle the Yeerks. UNDERGROUND 102 There's something suspicious about a new club called "The Sharing." Jake's brother, Tom, has quit the basketball team to join, and Marco's father is also enthusiastic about signing up. The kids' high school, which seems to endorse "The Sharing," holds a meeting. The Animorphs, posing as Controllers, take advantage of the opportunity to find out more. They are led down with the others into the ominous Yeerk Pool, where Yeerks feed on Kadronna rays from their home sun. The Controllers must revitalize at the pool every three days to survive. The kids barely get out alive, and soon realize Tobias is no longer among them. ON THE RUN 103 After their terrifying close call at the Yeerk Pool, the Animorphs decide to split up and gather more information. While Rachel and Cassie research "The Sharing" and search for news of the missing Tobias, Jake and Marco discover Elfangor's disk is now in the hands of the Yeerks. The Yeerks propose a trade: an Andalite for the disk. But where are Jake and Marco ever going to find an Andalite? BETWEEN FRIENDS 104 Rachel's best friend, Melissa, is acting strange and distant. Intent on finding out why, Rachel sneaks into Melissa's house to discover the secrets of vice principal Chapman, who is Melissa's father and a Controller. In the process, Rachel is captured in cat morph and taken by Chapman to the home of Victor Trent, the human incarnation of the Yeerk Leader, Visser Three. Jake follows Chapman to Victor's mansion and is almost captured himself. Tobias rescues Jake and Rachel in the nick of time and the kids all flee for their lives. THE MESSAGE 105 Cassie and Tobias are having strange visions and feelings of someone else's pain. Cassie follows her visions and discovers another injured Andalite has crashed on Earth. The Andalite, who turns out to be Elfangor's younger brother, Ax, is unsure of whom to trust. Does he place his faith in the young humans who possess the Andalite's ability to morph? Or does he trust the evil Visser Three who, on the outside, appears to be one of his own race? MY NAME IS JAKE: PART II 106 Scared and curious, the Animorphs experiment with Elfangor's gift. On Cassie's farm, Jake, Rachel, Marco and Cassie take turns practicing their new morphing powers. They experience what it feels like to be a horse, a cat and a rat. Now confident of their new abilities, the Animorphs return to the crash site to retrieve a lost disk Elfangor had warned them to guard with their lives. When they return to the site, they find it filled with Yeerk slaves who are frantically clearing away all signs of the Andalite wreckage. To their horror, the Animorphs discover Chapman, their high school vice principal, leading the pack. THE CAPTURE: PART I 107 For the last two years, Jake's dad has been planning the installment of a new health clinic at the local hospital. On the eve of the grand opening, Jake discovers that the clinic's most generous benefactor is Victor Trent--the human incarnation of Visser Three. The kids also learn that the Governor, a presidential candidate, is to be first to tour the new clinic. The Animorphs must infiltrate the clinic before Visser Three infests one of the country's most powerful politicians. Jake accidentally falls into a Yeerk Pool during the mission. If he ever escapes, will Jake still be himself? THE CAPTURE: PART II 108 Jake is acting fairly normal, in spite of his dip in the Yeerk Pool. The Animorphs decide to play it safe and keep Jake under close watch for three days. If he does have a Yeerk in his brain, it will perish in three days without nourishment of Kadronna Rays. Meanwhile, Ax--still new to planet Earth--must face the challenge of morphing and posing as Jake at home and at school. THE ESCAPE 109 The Animorphs have discovered a secret weapon to use against the Yeerks: maple-flavored oatmeal! The Yeerks crave it and, when they eat it, are unable to control their hosts. In order to successfully use the oatmeal as a weapon, the Animorphs must return to their worst nightmare--the Yeerk Pool. THE ALIEN 110 Homesick for his own planet, Ax uses a high-powered telescope to contact his father, and becomes hurt and upset when he is blamed for entrusting the Animorphs with the Andalite power to morph. Ax tries to hide his feelings, but soon learns that he must trust the Animorphs if they are to fight together against the Yeerks. THE REACTION 111 Cassie and Rachel become local heroes when they save a young boy from a crocodile pit at the zoo. But ever since the incident, Cassie constantly itches and morphs involuntarily. Ax explains that Cassie's having an allergic reaction to the crocodile's DNA--the more excited and emotional Cassie becomes, the stronger the reaction. The girls are invited to appear on a morning TV show, along with teen heartthrob Jason McCole, who turns out to be a spokesperson for The Sharing. Cassie's determined to stop Jason from promoting the club, but if she can't control her emotions, she'll end up morphing on national TV. THE STRANGER 112 The Animorphs are unsatisfied with their progress in the fight against the Yeerks. Even Rachel, the first to volunteer for every mission, is thinking about moving away. As if in response to their thoughts, an omniscient alien, the Elimist, descends and shows the Animorphs the probable future--complete Yeerk domination of the Earth. The Elimist offers the kids and their families refuge on another planet. Will the Animorphs abandon the battle to save the Earth in order to save themselves? THE LEADER: PART I 113 The Animorphs discover a second Kandronna and set out to destroy it, but Jake and Marco are caught with the Yeerks' new morph-detecting devices and sent into space aboard the Yeerk mothership. On the ship Jake and Marco uncover some shocking secrets. There is a Yeerk leader more powerful than Visser Three--Visser One. But the biggest secret of all is that Marco's mom isn't really dead. Worse--she's Visser One! THE LEADER: PART II 114 Back on earth, Cassie and Rachel destroy the Kandronna. Marco and Jake make a daring escape from the mothership with the help of Ax and the others. Now that Marco knows about his mom, he won't stop fighting the Yeerks until he gets her back. THE FORGOTTEN 115 When the Animorphs decide to take a break for the weekend, Rachel and Tobias make some plans of their own. The day takes an unexpected turn for the worse when Rachel crashes in hawk morph and wakes up lost in the woods with no memory. After Rachel is captured by a suspicious freed Controller and then rescued by Controllers at a Sharing camp-out, the rest of the Animorphs finally track her down (with the help of Jake's super-sniffing abilities in dog morph). Luckily, she hasn't told too many people about her strange memories of Yeerks and Andalites. It takes a few days for her memory to fully return, but when it does she's happy to know that she's one of the gang. TOBIAS 116 Tobias and Ax take a trip down memory lane. With the help of Andalite technology, Ax projects his and Tobias' recollections into a living diary. Tobias revisits some painful memories to help Ax learn more about being a human. In return, Tobias learns that in his mind and spirit he's still the same person, no matter what his physical form is. NOT MY PROBLEM 117 The weight of battling the Yeerk invasion is wearing on Jake, and after a bad day, he wishes he'd never met Elfangor at all. But be careful what you wish for--it might come true. After a taste of "What if?" by the Ellimist, Jake's appreciation for his friends is reaffirmed and he knows that he really wouldn't have it any other way. THE RELEASE 118 The Animorphs discover that the Yeerks are dying in the head of many Controllers. The Controllers have concocted a flu epidemic cover-up story, but will the truth get out? Jake and Marco take a big risk to try and save Tom, sick with the flu, but he is taken by Controllers for regeneration in the final hour. The risk pays off when they discover that he is in fact a freed Controller; Mr. Perkins, their science teacher, who is trying to save Tom. Unfortunately, his attempt fails, and Jake and Marco must help him escape Yeerk retaliation. Once again, their risks pay off and they learn that saving the world sometimes means one person at a time. FACE OFF: PART I 119 The Animorphs are excited about the district basketball finals but for more urgent reasons than who's going to win--the Sharing is putting on the half-time show and a big event like this is ideal for trapping new hosts. Little do they know that the controllers are planning to unleash their newest breed of Yeerks--ones that don't need Kandronna to live! Tom and Chapman lose the disk and Tobias recovers it only to unlock its secret. FACE OFF: PART II 120 The Yeerks' plan is revealed when Principal Chapman stops the game and announces that there is a tornado warning in town and everyone must retreat to the basement shelter for safety. The Animorphs know that there is nothing safe about this shelter--it's the Yeerk pool--and the plan must be to infest everyone at the game. But Tobias has unlocked the secret of the disk and with new morphing powers, the Animorphs enter the Yeerk pool and the battle begins. How will it end? Find out next season! Season: 2 FACE OFF: PART III 221 The Animorphs discover a new brood of "Yeerk Young" near the Yeerk pool. Horrified, they realize they must find a way to destroy it before it infests the entire school--and the entire world! To put an end to the evil threat, Rachel morphs into a Yeerk, and suddenly there are two Toms--and Jake is one of them! Can the Animorphs rescue the right brother before they become identical twins...forever? MY NAME IS EREK 222 Jake and Marco watch as Erek, a shy new classmate, displays superhuman strength to rescue a stray dog caught in the middle of a busy street. The Animorphs are convinced Erek is some sort of Super Yeerk and morph into dogs to sniff him out. The good news is that Erek's not a human-controller. The bad news is Erek's not really human at all... THE FRONT 223 The Animorphs are excited for Ax when he lands a job at "Upscale Accessories," the new electronics store at the mall. The owner tells Ax about the store's huge cell phone promotion--and encourages him to sell, sell, sell. But when the phones start selling like hot cakes, the Animorphs suspect that the cell phones may have a direct line to the Yeerks! CHANGES: PART I 224 Tired of defending the world from alien invaders, the Animorphs decide to unwind at the school's Spring Dance. Rachel can't wait to go with Tobias--her dream date--and once she persuades Jake and Cassie to double date, she drags Cassie to the mall in search of a dress. The shopping trip ends in disaster when Cassie discovers a well-known cosmetics company tests their products on animals. Appalled, she breaks into the company's lab to free the animals with Jake, who, in monkey morph, becomes the subject of an animal rights protest. CHANGES: PART II 225 Harold Nesbit, notorious computer geek, has a BIG crush on Rachel. To persuade her to go out with him, he offers her a look at video footage he captured of Marco morphing from wolf into human. Harold tells Rachel about his plan to submit the video to "The World's Weirdest Videos" television show for a chance to win $10,000. Jake and Rachel sneak into the TV studio to steal the tape, and are shocked to discover a new executive has taken control of the studio...and his name is Visser Three. CHANGES: PART III 226 Ax is secretly building a spaceship to go home, and Cassie isn't too happy when they find out. A graffiti image of a hawk in flight is suddenly haunting Tobias everywhere he looks. Concerned that someone knows about his hawk morph, he decides to investigate the situation. Meanwhile, Marco is busy conducting his own investigation. When he notices a suspicious-looking construction worker hanging around school, he follows him and discovers that his friends--and everyone else at Brockwood High--are in great danger.
