It’s been awhile since I’ve posted one of these site updates/announcement posts. As you may have noticed over the past few months, activity on the site has been down. There are a few reasons for that:
First and foremost, I can’t control the flow of news. As of late, not much is really happening in the way of kids TV-related news. As has been the case in the past, there are “dry periods” with little to report on. That can always change in an instant with just one news story, but for now, we haven’t got much to report on.
Second, NICKandMORE has, is and will always be a strictly news-based site. We will not report on celebrity gossip/fashion/sightings/etc., wild rumors or any theory-based reports. We also try and avoid click-bait topics as well.
Third, we can’t cover every tidbit of information for every show on each network we report on. There are simply too many shows for any one person to cover. That one person is usually me. Josh is of course doing a fine job of covering Toonami news for us, but otherwise it’s basically just me reporting on everything else. And no, at the moment, I’m not looking for additional help. I’ve tried that in the past and the outcome is usually not ideal.
Lastly, I wouldn’t be fully honest if I didn’t say that my enjoyment for kids TV in general has waned over the past year or so. I’m at a point where I’m watching the least amount of shows on the networks I cover and nothing really excites me about what’s coming in the near future. Nevertheless, I’m still pressing on (see more about that in the “Thank You” section below).
Site Design / Covering Kids TV
Moving on, as you may have noticed, the site has received another design change. It is now in-line with our other websites. Speaking of which, if you haven’t seen our tweets on Twitter or noticed the link here on the website, our CoveringKidsTV.com domain is now the gathering point for all of our websites and kids TV-related projects. We’re still archiving the internet’s largest TV schedule collection, we’re still updating episode lists at Kids TV Info and we’ve even begun a fun new Tumblr for old kids TV stuff. And even more cool stuff is being planned. And as always, we are not doing any of this for a profit.
Comments on NICKandMORE.com
Comments are now enabled on NICKandMORE.com. Starting with the Toonami news story today, you will be able to comment on new articles for up to two weeks after they are published. It’s through the Disqus system that many other sites use as well. You’ll have to either log-in or sign-up for a free Disqus account or sign-in with your Twitter, Facebook or Google account.
Comments will be monitored, mostly for language. As is common sense, all comments are the sole expression of the person commenting and not this site or anyone on this website. As this is my website, I do reserve the right to remove a comment, block someone from commenting and/or turning off comments for any reason. I don’t expect to do this often, if at all, but I just wanted to be clear on it.
So, to get us started off – how about leaving a comment below and letting me know what you’d like to see from this site moving forward or on another one of our sites. Remember – we can’t cover everything and we’ll try and not play favorites, so something like “more Pokemon news” isn’t really going to work.
As always, thank you for taking your time to visit this website. NICKandMORE has been going for over eight years now, and while there are times I consider packing it in and simply turning this into an archived site, I do want to be that resource for the kids out there now to have for their favorite network/shows, just like I had some years ago.
