This little nugget was slipped into a press release today for the Nick networks’ December programming:

“Nicktoons is stuffing viewers’ stockings this holiday season with the first two seasons of the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series from Dec. 22 – 28, at 8:00 p.m. (ET).”

So finally, five years after Nickelodeon acquired the TMNT franchise – as well as the 2003 series from 4Kids Entertainment – Nicktoons will begin airing the show. All 52 episodes from the first two seasons will air in a one-week period.

The show was announced to join the Nicktoons network in the fall of 2010. The show was last broadcast (in it’s “Back to the Sewer” season) on The CW4Kids in August 2010.
