Disney XD Shakes Schedule Up: Moves Marvel Block, Removes Animated Comedy Premieres

Disney XD 2

Disney XD is making a few schedule changes of their own starting next week. There are a few weekday morning changes, but the biggest ones are on Saturday and Sunday with the removal of the animated comedies and moving of Marvel Universe.

First off, starting Tuesday, Kickin’ It will now air weekday mornings at 8:30am, replacing Phineas and Ferb. Then at 9am will be Wizards of Waverly Place, replacing Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures followed by an extra Suite Life of Zack & Cody replacing the rotating half-hour of animated series. Lastly on weekdays, Pac-Man will now air at noon, replacing the afternoon showing of Ultimate Spider-Man.

Now’s where the bigger changes come in: Starting next Saturday, November 16, the 8:30-10:30am line-up of animated comedies are gone, including premieres of Packages from Planet X, Xiaolin Chronicles and Camp Lakebottom. They will all be replaced by repeats of Disney XD’s live-action sitcoms Lab Rats, Kickin’ It and Mighty Med. Max Steel will still have premieres at 8am.

Sundays also see a change: Marvel Universe shifts from 11am to 8am. Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Avengers Assemble will now have premiere episodes at 8:00am and 8:30am, respectively. As you guessed it, live-action sitcom repeats will fill the 11am time Marvel used to occupy.

In fact, if you look at day-by-day schedules, Disney XD is really pushing their live-action sitcoms hard. Even harder than normal. For example, this Sunday (Nov. 10) alone Lab Rats is airing 13 times, Kickin’ It is airing 8 times and Mighty Med 9 times. Next Sunday (Nov. 17), Lab Rats is scheduled for a massive 21 showings, thanks to an afternoon marathon in addition to other timeslots. Nevertheless, these sitcoms also have numerous weekday slots as well.

Please do note: This week’s premieres for the Saturday comedies and Sunday Marvel shows will still air and at their normal times. These changes start next week.
