Disney Channel Cancels “Shake It Up”
As we expected back in March, Shake It Up is ending on Disney Channel. The network has chosen not to renew the series following the third season, which wrapped production this spring.
The series still rates quite well for the network, coming in at #1 or #2 on weeks when it has premieres. Despite that, the network has chosen not to pick it up for more episodes. The series has a handful of episodes left to air and no set conclusion date as of yet. The series will end with 78 total episodes.
Unlike the ending of Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up was left hanging in the air when its season wrapped production. Cast members were left in limbo until an official announcement was made. It’s unknown, but unlikely, that a proper series finale was produced.
