Disney XD 2012 Prime and Total Day

Disney XD rocketed to its biggest year in the network’s history (including its 10 years as Toon Disney) with solid ratings from its growing array of original series — most notably its top three live-action comedies , “Lab Rats, “Pair of Kings” and “Kickin’ It” – in addition to the hit Marvel animated series “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” and “Ultimate Spider-Man.”Yearly ratings records were achieved in both Prime and Total Day in Total Viewers and all key kid and boy demographics, 2-11, 6-14, 6-11 and 9-14, rising by solid margins over year-ago results.

In Prime, Disney XD delivered its biggest audience in the channel’s history in Total Viewers (415,000) and across all key kid demographics: Kids 2-11 (244,000), Kids 6-11 (193,000), Kids 6-14 (246,000), Tweens 9-14 (167,000) – and across all boy demographicsBoys 2-11 (142,000), Boys 6-11 (114,000) and Boys 6-14 (148,000) and Boys 9-14 (102,000), posting solid double-digit percent increases in key demos.

  • Disney XD solidly beat Nicktoons by double to triple digits across all demos, including by 58% in Total Viewers (415,000 vs. 263,000), by 62% in Kids 2-11 (244,000 vs. 151,000), by 88% in Kids 6-14 (246,000 vs. 131,000), by 89% in Kids 6-11 (193,000 vs. 102,000) and by 109% in Tweens 9-14 (167,000 vs. 80,000).
  • Year to year, Disney XD surged by double digits among key demos, including by 17% in Total Viewers (415,000 vs. 356,000), by 16% in Kids 2-11 (244,000 vs. 211,000), by 17% in Kids 6-14 (246,000 vs. 210,000) and by 14% in Kids 6-11 (193,000 vs. 170,000).

In Total Day, Disney XD rose to annual highs in Total Viewers (339,000) and across all key kid demographics: Kids 2-11 (192,000), Kids 6-11 (149,000), Kids 6-14 (193,000), Tweens 9-14 (132,000) – and across all boy demographics  – Boys 2-11 (108,000), Boys 6-11 (85,000) and Boys 6-14 (112,000) and Boys 9-14 (77,000), levying solid double-digit percent increases in all key breaks.

  • Disney XD at least doubled Nicktoons in key demos, including Kids 2-11 (+100% – 192,000 vs. 96,000), Kids 6-14 (+124% – 193,000 vs. 86,000), Kids 6-11 (+133% – 149,000 vs. 64,000) and Tweens 9-14 (+144% – 132,000 vs. 54,000).

Programming Highlights

  • Disney XD’s #1 series of 2012, “Lab Rats” (2/27/12, 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.), launched as the network’s #1 original series telecast of all time in Total Viewers (1.3 million), Kids 2-11 (775,000/1.9 rating), Kids 6-14 (861,000/2.4 rating), Boys 6-14 (493,000/2.7 rating), Tweens 9-14 (584,000/2.4 rating) and Boys 9-14 (358,000/2.9 rating), and its #1 original series premiere ever in Kids 6-11 (681,000/2.8 rating).
  • Marvel’s “The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes” ranked as the network’s #1 animated series of 2012 in Total Viewers (847,000), with “Ultimate Spider-Man” #1 in Boys 2-11 (210,000/1.0 rating), Boys 6-14 (204,000/1.1 rating), Boys 6-11 (153,000/1.2 rating) and Boys 9-14 (131,000/1.1 rating).
  • “Crash & Bernstein” gained momentum on a weekly basis and set series highs during November in Kids 6-14 (489,000), Kids 6-11 (405,000), Tweens 9-14 (344,000) and Kids 2-11 (479,000).
