During the week of July 9, 2012, powered by its ‘Summer Adventure Weekend’ event featuring new episodes of hit shows including “Shake It Up,” “Jessie” and newcomer “Gravity Falls” (the latter hit series highs across all target demos), Disney Channel once again emerged as the #1 destination across TV on a total day basis, ranking as the #1 cable TV network for the 6th consecutive week in Total Viewers (2.19 million), the #1 TV network for the 6th straight week in Kids 2-11 (1.27 million/3.1 rating), while stretching its record-streak as the #1 TV network to an noteworthy 57 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 (916,000/3.7 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (754,000/3.1 rating).

  • This week was Disney Channel’s 2nd most-watched week on record in Kids 2-11, behind week of 8/13/07, the 3rd most-watched week of all time in Kids 6-11 and the 5th most-watched week in its history in Total Viewers.
  • Competitively, Disney Channel recorded its largest advantage over Nickelodeon ever, delivering twice as many Kids 6-11 (101% – 916,000 vs. 456,000), nearly twice as many Tweens 9-14 (99% – 754,000 vs. 379,000) and levying a huge 75% advantage in Kids 2-11 (1.27 million vs. 727,000). This marked the network’s 36th consecutive week boasting a double-digit percent advantage in Kids 6-11, its 38th straight week in Tweens 9-14 and 6th week in a row in Kids 2-11.
  • Summer 2012 to date, Disney Channel is pacing as cable TV’s #1 network in Total Day in Total Viewers (1.93 million) and as TV’s #1 network in Kids 2-11 (1.10 million/2.7 rating), Kids 6-11 (788,000/3.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (671,000/2.8 rating).
  • In Prime, Disney Channel stood as the #1 cable TV network for the 373rd straight week in Kids 6-11 (1.37 million/5.6 rating – over 7 years) and for the 108th consecutive week in Tweens 9-14 (1.06 million/4.4 rating – over 2 years).

‘Summer Adventure Weekend’ programming led Disney Channel to deliver the week’s Top 41 TV telecasts in Kids 2-11, the Top 126 TV telecasts in Kids 6-11 and the Top 58 TV telecasts in Tweens 9-14. Weekend highlights include:

  • Sunday’s “Austin & Ally” (8:00 – 8:30 p.m.) was the series’ most-watched telecast in 6 months in Kids 2-11 (2.12 million/5.1 rating) and posted 5-month highs in Total Viewers (3.52 million) and Kids 6-11 (1.64 million/6.7 rating) – since 1/29/12 and 2/19/12, respectively.
  • Sunday’s “Shake It Up” (8:30 – 9:00 p.m.) posted its best ratings in more than 9 months in Kids 2-11 (2.38 million/5.8 rating – since 10/9/11) and in approximately 8 months in Kids 6-11 (1.87 million/7.6 rating – since 11/27/11) and Total Viewers (3.93 million – since 11/6/11.
  • Friday’s “Gravity Falls” (9:30 – 10:00 p.m.) surged to series highs in Total Viewers (3.55 million), Kids 2-11 (2.25 million/5.5 rating), Kids 6-11 (1.77 million/7.2 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (1.23 million/5.1 rating), ranking as the week’s #1 animated TV telecast in the key demos.
  • Friday’s Fish Hooks” (9:00 – 9:30 p.m.) posted the series’ best ratings in 6 months in Kids 2-11 (2.20 million/5.3 rating) and Kids 6-11 (1.75 million/7.2 rating), since 1/6/12, standing as the week’s #2 animated TV telecast in the demos.
  • Disney Channel delivered the week’s Top 41 TV Telecasts in Kids 2-11 (Top 5 below):
