During the week of June 11, 2012, bolstered by the debut and encores of Disney Channel Original Movie, “Let It Shine,” an all-new “Good Luck Charlie” and the series’ preview of “Gravity Falls,” Disney Channel delivered its most-watched week in Total Day in 10 months (since August 2011), and for the 2nd straight week, swept TV’s #1 ranking in Kids 2-11 (1.2 million/2.8 rating), Kids 6-11 (825,000/3.4 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (699,000/2.9 rating), and was cable TV’s #1 network in Total Viewers (2.0 million). Notably, Disney Channel’s dominance over the kids’ TV landscape now stands at an impressive 53 consecutive weeks in Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14.

With “Let It Shine,” and January telecasts of “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Jessie” and “Fish Hooks,” Disney Channel currently holds the year’s Top 5 scripted TV telecasts in Kids 2-11 and Kids 6-11.

  • Disney Channel registered its largest competitive advantage on record over Nickelodeon, surpassing the runner-up by 56% in Kids 6-11 (825,000 vs. 530,000) and by 27% in Kids 2-11 (1.15 million vs. 908,000), and posted its 3rd biggest win ever in Tweens 9-14 (+60% – 699,000 vs. 437,000). Moreover, this marked Disney Channel’s 32nd week in a row boasting a double-digit percent advantage over Nickelodeon in Kids 6-11 and 34th week running in Tweens 9-14.
  • Impressively, with just one week remaining in 2Q 2012 (3/26/12-6/17/12), Disney Channel is poised to rank as TV’s #1 network in Total Day for the 13th consecutive quarter in Tweens 9-14 (481,000/2.0 rating), for the 5th consecutive quarter in Kids 6-11 (572,000/2.3 rating) and currently leads Nickelodeon by 3% for #1 in Kids 2-11 (881,000 vs. 857,000).
  • In Prime, delivering its 2nd-most-watched week in Prime of 2012 (behind week of 1/2/12), Disney Channel ranked as cable TV’s #1 network in Total Viewers (2.8 million) and was the #1 TV network for the 369th straight week in Kids 6-11 (1.3 million/5.4 rating – 7 years), and in Tweens 9-14 (1.1 million/4.4 rating), was #1 for the 104th week in a row.
  • Led by Friday’s premiere and Saturday’s 2nd encore of “Let It Shine,” along with Friday’s “Good Luck Charlie” and “Gravity Falls,” Disney Channel delivered the week’s Top 16 TV telecasts in Kids 2-11, and the Top 12 TV telecasts in both Kids 6-11 and Tweens 9-14 (Top 5 listed):
