NICKELODEON’S iCARLY RINGS IN NEW YEAR WITH TOP KID AND TWEEN TELECAST, SCORES 5.5 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

Nick Nabs Cable’s Top Spot for the Week

Nickelodeon was the place for kids to be this New Year’s Eve with the premiere of “iStill Psycho,” (Saturday, Dec. 31 at 8/7c), which drew 5.5 million total viewers and ranks as the week’s top telecast with all kid and tween demos. The hour-long special also posted huge triple-digit gains and averaged a 7.9/2.7 million (+126%) K2-11, 10.8/2.3 million K6-11 (+145%), and 10.7/2.2 million (+168%) T9-14.

Fueled by a strong performance from iCarly and SpongeBob SquarePants–which ranks as the top animated series of the week with kids 2-11–Nick nabbed the top spot for the week with kids 2-11 (3.3/1.2 million), total viewers (2.2 million) and kids 2-5 (3.3/ 462,000 million).

In “iStill Psycho,” the sequel to last year’s summer hit “iPsycho,” the iCarly crew receives word that Nora Dershlit (Danielle Morrow) is going to be released from jail. They set out to try and keep their old captor behind bars but things take a turn for the worse after Nora and her parents capture the gang. Freddie finds a way to get a message to his mother, but will Mrs. Benson be able to come to their rescue before it’s too late?
