Deadline.com reports that Disney Channel has ordered the production of a new comedy pilot Dog With A Blog, about a family dog who can talk and blog.
With the important message that it’s never too soon to learn the importance of “investing in yourself,” The Hub TV network, a destination for kids and their families, will present a series of four animated original specials, “Secret Millionaires Club,” featuring famed investor Warren Buffett. The first of the half-hour specials premieres Sunday, October 23 (1 p.m. ET).

The Disney/ABC Television Group today announced that Carolina Lightcap, president, Disney Channels Worldwide, has decided to step down from her post effective immediately. In a separate release, Gary Marsh was named president and Chief Creative Officer, Disney Channels Worldwide.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, Nickelodeon will bring for the first time its flagship Worldwide Day of Play (WWDOP) event to the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., for the biggest celebration of active play in the eight-year history of the initiative. Fifty partner organizations, “Let’s Move” and the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition will join with Nickelodeon to host an entire day of physical activities and games for kids and their families to encourage active and healthy lifestyles. Additionally, as it has for the past seven years to commemorate WWDOP, Nickelodeon’s networks and websites will go dark from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. (all times ET/PT) as a signal to kids and families to get up and get active. In D.C., activities will begin at 10 a.m.

Friday’s “Phineas and Ferb” ranked as the series’ No. 1 telecast on record in Kids 6-11 (2.1 million/8.7 rating – tie) and Boys 6-11 (1.1 million/8.9 rating), and was the series’ most-watched regular telecast ever in Total Viewers (4.6 million), placing No. 2 overall, behind its Christmas special in 2009 (5.2 million, 12/11/09).
