Cartoon Network Ratings Highlights for November 15 – 21, 2010

Cartoon Network’s overall prime time performance last week earned solid delivery gains compared to the same 2009 time period—average kids 6-11 delivery (540,000) grew by 9% and ratings (2.2) by 10%, and kids 2-11 delivery (766,000) grew by 6% while ratings (1.8) were unchanged.

The network’s Monday night line-up (7-10 p.m.) of animated comedies—Adventure Time, Regular Show, MAD, Robotomy and Total Drama World Tour—ranked #1 on basic cable among boys 9-14 with the top 5 telecasts of the night.  The programming block continued to earn dramatic double-digit growth compared to the 2009 time period: kids 6-11 delivery (700,000) increased by 49% and ratings (2.8) by 47%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,006,000) increased by 39% and ratings (2.4) by 33%, and kids 9-14 delivery (577,000) increased by 27% and ratings (2.4) by 26%.  Even more impressively, boys 6-11 delivery (548,000) increased by 61%, boys 2-11 delivery (732,000) increased by 46% and boys 9-14 delivery (439,000) increased by 42%.

#1 for the night among boys 6-11 and boys 2-11, a new episode of ADVENTURE TIME (8 p.m.) once again anchored the Monday evening line-up of animated comedies, charting considerable double-digit growth vs. the same time 2009 time period—kids 6-11 delivery (969,000) increased by 47% and ratings (3.9) by 44%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,347,000) increased by 32% and ratings (3.2) by 28%, and kids 9-14 delivery (731,000) increased by 12% and ratings (3.0) by 11%.  Similarly strong, boys 6-11 delivery (817,000) improved by 78%, boys 2-11 delivery (1,038,000) improved by 49% and boys 9-14 delivery (599,000) improved by 33%.

Attracting a larger audience vs. the previous year across all kids demos—some by triple digits—REGULAR SHOW (Monday, 8:15 p.m./ranked #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11 and boys 2-11) saw kids 6-11 delivery (943,000) improve by 77%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,271,000) improve by 54%, kids 9-14 delivery (821,000) improve by 59%, boys 6-11 delivery (788,000) improve by 108%, boys 2-11 delivery (977,000) improve by 76% and boys 9-14 delivery (680,000) improve by 98%.  MAD (8:30 p.m.)—also ranked #1 in its timeslot among boys 6-11, 2-11 and 9-14—continued its growth trajectory among targeted kids and boys—kids 6-11 delivery (974,000) grew by 73%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,236,000) grew by 49%, kids 9-14 delivery (904,000) grew by 60%, boys 6-11 delivery (786,000) grew by 101%, boys 2-11 delivery (929,000) grew by 65% and boys 9-14 delivery (714,000) grew by 97%.

The Season Finale of the animated reality series TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR (9 p.m.) posted triple-digit gains across all kids and boys demos vs. the 2009 time period: Kids 6-11 delivery (793,000) expanded by 161% and ratings (3.2) by 167%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,007,000) expanded by 112% and ratings (2.4) by 100%, and kids 9-14 delivery (810,000) expanded by 171% and ratings (3.3) by 175%.  Boys 6-11 delivery (610,000) grew by 172%, boys 2-11 delivery (729,000) grew by 113% and boys 9-14 delivery (617,000) grew by 228%.

Tuesday night’s presentation of an all-new TOWER PREP (9-10 p.m.) charted solid delivery and ratings gains among its targeted older kids demo.  Versus the 2009 time period, kids 6-11 delivery (285,000) improved by 3% and ratings (1.2) by 9%, and kids 9-14 delivery (298,000) improved by 23% and ratings (1.2) by 20%.  Boys 6-11 delivery (222,000) increased by 7% and boys 9-14 delivery (240,000) increased by 37%.  Compared to the previous four weeks average, Tower Prep is showing considerable growth among ALL kids demos: kids 6-11 delivery has grown by 14% and ratings by 20%, kids 2-11 delivery (437,000) has grown by 20% and ratings (1.1) by 22%, kids 9-14 delivery and ratings both have grown by 20%, boys 6-11 delivery has grown by 5%, boys 2-11 delivery (316,000) has grown by 19% and boys 9-14 delivery has grown by 19%.

Wednesday night’s schedule of live-action alternative programming (7-10 p.m.) earned across-the-board delivery and ratings gains among targeted kids audiences—compared to the 2009 time period, overall kids 6-11 delivery (654,000) improved by 33% and ratings (2.6) by 30%, while kids 2-11 delivery (913,000) improved by 30% and ratings (2.2) by 29%.

HOLE IN THE WALL (7:30 p.m.) kicked off the evening with a rock solid performance: kids 6-11 delivery (700,000) grew by 44%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,049,000) grew by 39% and kids 9-14 delivery (443,000) grew by 4%.  A brand new episode of DESTROY BUILD DESTROY (8:30 p.m.) crowned the evening with strong growth across the board compared to 2009’s time period—kids 6-11 delivery (802,000) increased by 25%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,024,000) increased by 27%, kids 9-14 delivery (571,000) increased by 2%, boys 6-11 delivery (629,000) increased by 30%, boys 2-11 delivery (728,000) increased by 23% and boys 9-14 delivery (476,000) increased by 11%.  Immediately before that, a new episode of DUDE, WHAT WOULD HAPPEN (8 p.m.) also posted solid gains: kids 6-11 delivery (829,000) expanded by 13%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,081,000) expanded by 17%, boys 6-11 delivery (664,000) expanded by 16% and boys 2-11 delivery (796,000) expanded by 11%.

On Friday night, a new episode of BEN 10: ULTIMATE ALIEN (7:30 p.m.) earned considerable double-digit gains among the 6-11 crowd.  Vs. the 2009 time period, kids 6-11 delivery (818,000) improved by 55% and ratings (3.3) by 50%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,106,000) improved by 46% and ratings (2.7) by 50%, and kids 9-14 delivery (561,000) improved by 8% and ratings (2.3) by 10%.   Similarly, boys 6-11 delivery (639,000) improved by 54% and ratings (5.0) by 52%, boys 2-11 delivery (791,000) improved by 35% and ratings (3.7) by 32%, and boys 9-14 delivery (450,000) improved by 7% and ratings (3.6) by 6%.
