New iCarly Episode Tops BASIC Cable on Monday Night with Almost 7 Million Total Viewers

Big Time Rush Ranks as Cable’s Top Entertainment Telecast

in Time Period with Almost 5 Million Total Viewers

NEW YORK–Oct. 13, 2010–New episodes of iCarly and Big Time Rush on Columbus Day notched ratings wins for Nickelodeon. iCarly “iDo” (Monday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) topped basic cable on Monday night with 6.7 million total viewers and Big Time Rush “Big Time Girlfriends” (8:30 pm ET/PT) ranked as the top entertainment telecast on cable in its 8:30 p.m. time period, with 5 million total viewers.

The new episodes also posted gains and beat their nearest competitor by huge triple-digits with all key kid and tween demos.  iCarly “iDo” averaged a 13.5/2.9 million K6-11 (+187%), 12.9/2.7 million T9-14 (+291%) and 10.0/3.6 million K2-11 (+150%). Big Time Rush “Big Time Girlfriends” averaged a 10.7/2.3 million K6-11 (+197%), 10.3/2.2 million T9-14 (+312%) and 8.0/2.9 million K2-11 (+176%).

In iCarly “iDo,” an iCarly fan proposes to his girlfriend live on the web show and the gang gets roped into going to the wedding.  But when the bride gets cold feet, Carly must come to the rescue with a performance of the song “Shakespeare” (a track from Miranda Cosgrove’s solo CD Sparks Fly).

Big Time Rush “Big Time Girlfriends” finds James helping Camille run lines for a soap opera audition when they get caught up in the moment and kiss!  Gustavo tries to set up Carlos with his first girlfriend so he can learn about heartbreak, and Kendall and Jo have such busy schedules they never have time to see each other.  “Big Time Girlfriends” features a brand-new music video for the song, “Boyfriend” from Big Time Rush’s newly-released CD BTR.
