Cartoon Network’s Ratings Highlights for October 4 – 10, 2010

Cartoon Network’s Monday night programming block of animated comedies (7-10 p.m.) continues to steam forward, earning powerful double-digit ratings and delivery gains compared to the same time period last year.  Versus the 2009 time period, overall kids 6-11 delivery (629,000) improved by 35% and ratings (2.5) by 32%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,001,000) improved by39% and ratings (2.4) by 41%; and kids 9-14 delivery (536,000) improved by 59% and ratings (2.2) by 57%.

The evening kicked off with SCOOBY-DOO! MYSTERY INC. (7 p.m.), which earned solide double-digit gains across all kids demos.  Kids 6-11 delivery (758,000) grew by 75%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,320,00) grew by 79%, kids 9-14 delivery (499,000) grew by 70%, boys 6-11 delivery (525,000) grew by 59%, boys 2-11 delivery (884,000) grew by 85% and boys 9-14 delivery (314,000) grew by 78%.

Top-rated new animated series to date in 2010 ADVENTURE TIME (8 p.m.) continued to anchor the evening line-up, earning remarkable gains vs. 2009—kids 6-11 delivery (732,000) increased by 35% and ratings (3.0) by 36%; kids 2-11 delivery (1,106,000) increased by 33% and ratings (2.7) by 35%; and kids 9-14 delivery (552,000) increased by 32% and ratings (2.3) by 35%.  Similarly, boys 6-11 delivery (592,000) improved by 27%, boys 2-11 delivery (821,000) improved by 30% and boys 9-14 delivery (431,000) improved by 30%.

The newest Cartoon Network original series, THE REGULAR SHOW (8:15 p.m.) scored double-digit gains among all kids and boys demos vs. the prior year.  Kids 6-11 delivery (756,000) expanded by 15%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,102,000) expanded by 22%, kids 9-14 delivery (516,000) expanded by 35%, boys 6-11 delivery (611,000) expanded by 15%, boys 2-11 delivery (797,000) expanded by 16%, and boys 9-14 delivery (516,000) expanded by 35%.

Immediately following was the new series MAD (8:30 p.m.), which charted gains across the board vs. the 2009 time period: kids 6-11 delivery (779,000) grew by 33%, kids 2-11 delivery (1,087,000) grew by 33%, kids 9-14 delivery (711,000) grew by 62%, boys 6-11 delivery (564,000) grew by 14%, boys 2-11 delivery (764,000) grew by 23%, and boys 9-14 delivery (543,000) grew by 52%.

Growing delivery across every kid demo, TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR (Monday, 9 p.m.) also wrapped up the evening with double-digit gains compared to last year’s 2009 time period.  Kids 6-11 delivery (541,000) improved by 29%; kids 2-11 delivery (815,000) improved by 26%, kids 9-14 delivery (622,000) improved by 92%, boys 6-11 delivery (429,000) improved by 19%, boys 2-11 delivery (606,000) improved by 20% and boys 9-14 delivery (477,000) improved by 82%.

On Wednesday night, Cartoon Network premiered the all-new game show, HOLE IN THE WALL (7:30 p.m.), which garnered delivery and ratings gains among its targeted kids 6-11 and kids 9-14 demos.  Compared to the same time period last year, kids 6-11 delivery (782,000) expanded by 9% and ratings (3.2) by 10%, while kids 9-14 delivery (487,000) expanded by 7% and ratings (2.0) by 5%.  Boys 6-11 delivery (522,000) also expanded by 9%.

On Friday night, a new Season 3 episode of STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS (9 p.m.) earned solid gains among all kids demos.  Versus the previous year’s timeslot, kids 6-11 delivery (636,000) grew by 21%, kids 2-11 delivery (823,000) grew by 10%, and kids 9-14 delivery (596,000) grew by 74%.

SYM-BIONIC TITAN (Friday, 9:30 p.m.) followed next, also earning strong delivery gains compared to the previous year’s numbers.  Kids 6-11 delivery (463,000) increased by 22%, kids 2-11 delivery (651,000) increased by 33%, and kids 9-14 delivery (433,000) increased by 56%.
