(Toronto, Canada) Corus Entertainment, Canada’s largest kids’ broadcaster is overflowing with new series and specials for kids and their families this August. Viewers won’t want to miss sneak peek episodes of five new shows launching on YTV this fall including Big Time Rush and Victorious starring Victoria Justice. Martin Short stars as the voice of the Cat in the first ever Dr. Seuss inspired animated series The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! on Treehouse.

BIG TIME RUSH – SNEAK PEEK
YTV is dedicating an evening to pop stars with the premiere episode iCarly: iFix a Popstar and a sneak peek one-hour pilot episode of Big Time Rush, launching on YTV in September.

iCARLY: iFIX A POPSTAR – PREMIERE
Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and the gang are in for a surprise when they agree to make a music video for washed-up pop star Ginger Fox who is out of shape and can’t seem to hit a high note. Meanwhile, Spencer has trouble dating a woman when he discovers she is Gibby’s mom. iCarly: iFix a Popstar premieres Friday, August 6 at 6:30 p.m.

BIG TIME RUSH: BIG TIME AUDITION – SNEAK PEEK
Sixteen year-old Kendall’s life is turned upside down after he is discovered by record producer Gustavo Rocque, who wants to turn him into a pop star. Instead of choosing between staying at home with his best friends in Minneapolis and pop-star status, he brings James, Logan and Carlos along for the ride. Do the boys have what it takes to survive the music biz? Will celebrity life change them forever? Viewers won’t want to miss a special one-hour pilot episode Friday, August 6 at 7 p.m. For viewers who missed the sneak peek, YTV.com will stream it online at 8 p.m. Produced in partnership by Nickelodeon and Sony Music, each half-hour episode will feature original songs performed by the group.

Viewers can catch repeat airings of this one-hour pilot on Saturday, August 7 at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 11 at 5 p.m., Friday, August 20 at 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 29 at 11 a.m. on Nickelodeon.

SNEAK PEEK WEEK ON YTV
Viewers won’t want to miss sneak peeks of upcoming fall shows when YTV presents its annual Sneak Peek Week beginning on Tuesday, August 31 at 6:30 p.m. with the one-hour pilot episode of Big Time Rush. Highlights include the new live-action Nickelodeon series Victorious, starring Victoria Justice, Fanboy & Chum Chum as well as Nelvana-produced series Sidekick.

VICTORIOUS – SNEAK PEEK
Nickelodeon’s hottest new live-action comedy Victorious follows TV’s newest tween queen Victoria Justice as Tori Vega, a 15 year-old girl who has grown up in the shadow of her older sister Trina – the “star” of the family. A fluke accident thrusts Tori into the spotlight, landing her an invitation to attend the prestigious Hollywood Arts high school where she soon learns that getting in might be a lot easier than fitting in. Although she doesn’t recognize how talented she really is, Victorious follows Tori’s journey toward discovering that she’s born to be a performer and that entertaining people is what makes her happiest. On Wednesday, September 1, viewers can hang with Victoria Justice as she guest stars in iCarly: iFight Shelby Marx at 6 p.m., followed by the first two episodes of Victorious at 7 p.m. and then the evening will wrap up with her movie role in Spectacular at 8 p.m.

FANBOY & CHUM CHUM – SNEAK PEEK
Full of comic adventures, meet 10 year-old Fanboy and his best friend and trusty side-kick Chum Chum. Fearless and endlessly energetic about all things sci-fi and fantasy, these truly original kids have super imaginations. Combining classic squash and stretch animation with CGI technology, this series features the voices of Josh Duhamel and Jamie Kennedy. Viewers won’t want to miss this opportunity to catch two sneak peek episodes of the Nick animated series Fanboy & Chum Chum on Thursday, September 2 at 4:30 p.m. in YTV’s popular afterschool block, The Zone hosted by Carlos.

SIDEKICK – SNEAK PEEK
Eric Neddles is a young orphan who lives in Sidekick, an animated world filled with superheroes and super villains. On the day Eric is to start sidekicking for Maxum Man, the greatest superhero of all time, Maxum goes missing, which leaves rookie Eric the dangerous task of making the world think that Maxum is still on the job. Eric must juggle his new job with attending Splittsboro Sidekick Academy with his friends Trevor, Vana and Kitty. Viewers can channel their inner superhero with a Sidekick sneak peek episode Friday, September 3 at 4:30 p.m.

NICKELODEON AUGUST 2010 HIGHLIGHTS

THE MIGHTY B! – PREMIERE EPISODES
Created and voiced by SNL’s Amy Poehler, The Mighty B! follows the adventures of 10 year-old Bessie Higgenbottom, the world’s most ambitious Honeybee scout, who wears her uniform every single day, leads her troop with a zeal General Patton would have admired and has earned more Bee Badges than any Honeybee in history. However, a bunch of badges still elude her and Bessie won’t rest until she has earned them all. Viewers won’t want to miss new episodes of this Nick animated series every Friday in August beginning on Friday, August 6 at 3:30 p.m.

TREEHOUSE AUGUST 2010 HIGHLIGHTS

THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT! – WORLD PREMIERE
Starring Martin Short as the voice of Cat, The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is the first animated series starring the famous children’s book character. With Cat as their guide, Sally and Nick are transported to all corners of the globe, making natural science discoveries of all kinds. Along for the ride are Cat’s two energetic helpers, the mop-headed zany duo: Thing One and Thing Two. Booting around in Cat’s one-of-a-kind custom vehicle, the Thinga-ma-jigger, the group can travel to the bottom of the sea or shrink down to the size of a bee to discover how honey is made. The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! premieres Saturday, August 7 at 5:30 p.m.

DORA’S BIG BIRTHDAY ADVENTURE – PREMIERE
Preschoolers’ favourite adventurer, Dora the Explorer is turning 10 – and to celebrate viewers are invited to tune into a special one-hour premiere episode Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure. A nod to The Wizard of Oz and the final instalment of the Magic Storybook Trilogy, Dora and Boots find their way home for Dora’s birthday party where all of her family and friends are waiting to celebrate with her. Dora’s Big Birthday Adventure premieres on Sunday, August 15 at 6 p.m.

Viewers can catch two repeat airings of this special birthday celebration on Monday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 25 at 2 p.m. on Nickelodeon.

ROLL PLAY LIVE
It’s that time again for preschoolers to get and moving with Roll Play Live. Stemming from the popular Treehouse series Roll Play, Roll Play Live combines all things imaginative, musical and active, and is filmed with a studio audience. Viewers and their parents can join in on the fun as Roll Play Live gets audiences on screen and at home jumping, stomping and wiggling into shape. Viewers can check out Roll Play Live on Saturday, August 14 at 5 p.m.
